Unikraft Source Code
-------------------

Unikraft is organized into libraries where each might be individually licensed.
In general, each source file should declare who is the copyright owner and under
which terms and conditions the code is licensed. The main license of the project
is the following BSD 3-clause license. It applies verbatim with copyright
attributed to Unikraft UG (haftungsbeschränkt) to all source code files that do
not declare a license with copyright attributed and where there is no license
information file (e.g., `LICENSE`, `COPYING`) placed in the same or
corresponding root folder.

Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without

Xen Headers
-----------

Please note that the files in `plat/xen/include/xen` were copied from the Xen
sources. They are licensed under MIT. For details please refer to
`plat/xen/include/xen/COPYING`.

Build and Configuration Systems
-------------------------------

Unikraft's build and configuration system is based on
[Buildroot](https://buildroot.org), which is licenced under GPLv2. In addition,
we supply a copy of the Linux Kernel's `checkpatch.pl` script to help
committers adhere to the coding style. This means that a number of files in
this repository are GPLv2-licenced. Specifically:

Note that using the configuration and build system does *not* result in your
built binary becoming GPLv2-licenced (unless, of course, you link in other
GPLv2-licenced code).
